When you think of the dances of "Carefree" you remember "The Yam",the slo-motion dream "I used
to be color blind" and the dancing under a spell "Change partners".
Was there really no scene cut from the movie???

Different sources about the production of "Carefree" claim that there was another dance.

tcm,for example, states: a second dream sequence which featured the Berlin song
"Let's make the most of our Dream" was filmed but deleted.

On the other hand, neither John Mueller nor Arlene Croce mentioned a cut number in their
books and Ginger Rogers denied it in her book, too.

"If there was such a number,I must have shot it while dreaming. The only numbers that
were ever done for the film "Carefree" are in the released film"

Case closed...not quite, there a some pictures which don't quite fit in any "Carefree" scene.

The background in this pic looks completely different from the "I used to be color blind"
one.Although Fred and Ginger are clearly dressed the same way as in this dance the
atmosphere seems darker and almost like a nightmare.

Another pic, found at an ebay-search,shows apparently the same set.I never saw it before
but was it maybe the beginning of dream scene?
Why did RKO built such a set for the movie, when there was no cut scene?

So decide for yourself, was there a scene cut from the movie or were these pics only shot
just for fun?

Aw, you finally posted it. Very interersting pics. I knew the second but I never saw the first one.

I had no idea if that scene was filmed but someone commented me not too long ago that there was an scene, another dream. As Ginger's character had a dream scene, Fred's character had one too where he started to realize he loved her.. and I think those two pics fit with that idea.

I got an interesting comment from lilsurelybeans to this post in
my mail,but it doesn't show up here.Why?
I had never read before that the pics could have been taken on
the set of "The Wizard of Oz".The time-frame is certainly right,
good thought.

True, her reply is showing here, how weird.

No, I dind't hear that either. I heard about his dream scene but nothing about being taken there. Interesting, yeah.
